Daniel Maguire

Daniel Maguire holds a graduate degree in Economics and Community Development from the University of Maine where he taught business management for two years. Daniel began his professional career as a high school math teacher prior to spending five years in the Air Force in accounting and finance.  Following graduate school, he was a Business Development Director with Eastern Maine Development Corporation.  In 1982, he joined the Maine State Development Office team as a Development Project Officer providing site location assistance to businesses that were expanding in Maine and coordinating trade missions working directly with the Governor's Office.

In 1985, Daniel joined Sandy River Group in Farmington, Maine and was initially responsible for managing the development of the Topsham Fair Mall, a 200,000 SF shopping center. Beginning in 1987, as VP of Development, he directed the development and construction of Sandy River’s portfolio of long term care and assisted living facilities throughout Maine as well as consulted on the development of several projects for non-profit healthcare providers. He is also responsible for overseeing HUD financing for the Sandy River portfolio and for other clients. Today, as a Managing Director of Sandy River Company, Daniel is working on a variety of assignments ranging from the development of senior care projects to facilitating the sale and financing of facilities for selected clients.

Daniel resides in Cape Elizabeth and has two children and four grandchildren. He is forever a student of golf and wants to invent a small fishing rod you can keep in your golf bag for those holes along rivers when he can’t find his golf ball!
